For You.

For Questions, For Answers!
Four Questions, Four Answers!

Q:
When you die in a fire and they have to use dental records to identify you, how do they know which dentist's office to get them from?
March 26, 2008 12:32 PM

A:
A forensic dentist will take the record of the individual postmortem. They then compare the information to identities that are already known, such as a missing persons report.

Q:
When you have achieved perfection, then what do you do?
March 31, 2008 5:39 PM

A:
Some would say that you would be dead. For as lifeless decomposing matter you are serving a divine and perfect path. But really, it would take you SO LONG to achieve perfection that you would be deceased far before achieving your goal. So the first answer is sort of a cop out. I say, if you can really do it, go home and enjoy the perfection.

Q:
Why is there proof?
March 31, 2008 5:40 PM

A:
Proof was created by the British navy. Sailors were paid their wage partly in rum and other spirits. In order to insure that the captains could not water the spirits down in order to short the crew on pay. A "proof" spirit would ignite when touched by flame, (roughly 100 Proof). The US and UK still use this system today, though with a bit more math behind it, for most spirits.

Q:
What's the point of Billy Idol?
April 14, 2008 5:40 PM

A:
Billy Idol was created by David Bowie and Sid Vicious to bring the punk rock "scene" of the 1980's to the public. They made him out of 100% recycled material. Now the point of Billy Idol is to make Billy Idol Money.

Leslie the Coal Miner.

Three Questions this Evening. But two are conveniently intertwined!

To your right is a dear friend of mine. His name is Leslie Coalminer. He is pictured here at the end of a particularly harrowing spelunking incident that he asked I go into no further detail about. He is pictured here at age 23. He began working in the mines at age twenty, but said he "Didn't really start to enjoy it 'till they got rid of the canary."

That was his sophomore year as a U.S. Coal Miner. The canary, also named Leslie, was not laid-off but ,rather, let go. After that the foreman put Leslie deep down in the mines, running the lights in new tunnels. "It's a dark job," he'd always say, "but I light it."

He later married a local woman, also named Leslie, and settled down in the great northwest. His three children, Leslie, Leslie, and Leslie Jr., all attend the state university now. They are all majoring in alternative energy studies.

What gives you confidence?
March 15, 2008 1:25 PM

Proof, sir, gives me confidence. I can only believe to be true that which I have experienced for myself and I have not perished from any experience so far. So by all good reason I have every right to be confident. I have succeeded in many, many things. Why just today I drove all the way to work without a bus running me over, or my truck running out of gas! I have a house to live in and food to eat and cloths to wear, I exude confidence!

Things are just good man, ya dig?

Round One: The Obvious Frontier.

Question One.

"You've titled this 'hopes and dreams'. What are your hopes and dreams? More specifically, where do you see yourself in the next year? Five years? Ten years?"

OK. This one is kind of hard. I mean, I named the post "Hopes and Dreams" because it was a statement of intent. The hopes and dreams it refers to are the success of the endeavor. The title of the blog is "Q & A With a Fool." So my hopes and dreams are not really the issue at hand. But here are some quick answers.

1 year: Not far from where I am.

5 years: Somewhere Else.

10 years: Somewhere Warmer.

Question Two:

"what is the meaning of life?"

To ask this question every day and think of an answer for yourself.

Need more? OK.

You really answer this question for yourself every day. You continue to live. You could jump under a bus or drop a big brick on your head at any moment. There are plenty of bricks and buses. But you don't. Maybe it is because you like your job, or hate your job but think that Judy in reception is really cute. Maybe it's because your kid/dog/fish is hungry.

Another easy answer is that the meaning of life is to live. "You can't take it with you", they say, but you can live your final moments remembering the life you led. Living on your motorcycle on a beautiful day, with the friends you cared about, the garden well planted and in full bloom. Life is for you, life is for living!

And that is the meaning of life.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good Job Everyone! The easy one is out of the way, and we've already gotten personal. Keep those questions coming! Get creative. Go nuts!

Hopes and Dreams.

So here is my statement of Intent. Right on the front for you. I want to answer your questions.

What questions might you ask? Well what have you got? I promise an* answer to any question.

Still not convinced? Try it out. Only takes a second or two to leave a comment, why not make it a question? **

*Answer is not guaranteed, promised, or even very likely to be correct.
**You may also ask yourself, "Why not make it a callous/mean/shaming remark against the author? How dare he make me work to read his blog. Doesn't he have any opinions of his own? Why cant he think up his own questions? I'm really busy, and I don't want to support some lazy blogger who doesn't even want to put in the effort of writing a decent first post. This is just plain silly. Foolish even.", but please try not to judge too early. I could be very good at this.
